Our Firm

Founded in 1960 by Keeva J. Kekst and now in its second generation of ownership, ka has evolved into a nationally recognized, 105-person firm based in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. The firm’s emphasis on providing value-added design services to clients in the commercial and corporate marketplaces has culminated in the design of projects in 41 states and Puerto Rico. These include mixed-use projects comprised of residential, retail, office, and entertainment components, condominiums/apartments, open-air shopping centers, 60 regional malls, 300 department stores, healthcare facilities and seven million square feet of office space.

The firm’s studios are focused around areas of expertise. These include retail, mixed-use, hospitality, and corporate work environments. Our Landscape Architecture and Environmental Graphic Design groups are integrated within the studios to provide specific expertise as needed. The transition through project phases is seamless because the team works together throughout the life of the project to provide continuity and consistency of design intent.
