Cleveland, OH (March 5, 2008) – The Program Committee for the International Making Cities Livable Conference has selected ka’s Velocity in the Gulch project, located in Nashville, Tennessee, to be presented at the 46th International Making Cities Livable Conference (IMCL) in Santa Fe, New Mexico, June 1-5, 2008.
Velocity was selected based on its addition of vitality, scale, utility and interest to the daily life of its community. The IMCL conference has been a bi-annual event in the United States and Europe for over 20 years. It’s a platform for city officials, architects, planners, developers, community leaders, behavioral scientists, artists, and others responsible for the livability of their cities to exchange experiences, ideas and expertise.
“The Velocity project builds on the redevelopment of the Gulch neighborhood in Nashville,” said Robert Weeks, project manager at ka. “Working with Bristol Development Group and Market Street Enterprises, we were able to achieve a design that creates a sense of community and place.”
