about ka
This addition of a lifestyle component to this 1970s-era mall brings new organization and focus to a mall that had seen many expansions in subsequent years, leading to confusing, multiple corridors and entry points.
ka's design creates a restaurant/retail district located at the front of the mall, which, through careful building placement, forms an urban, horseshoe-shaped plaza. Decorative lighting, plantings, stone pavers and scored, colored concrete add interest to the new entry. Curved, wrought-iron benches encourage shoppers to relax and linger.
The addition of more upscale tenants--P.F. Changs, Pottery Barn, Champps and Biaggi's Ristorante Italiano--attracts even more visitors to this already successful mall.
