ka's long term relationship with MBNA began with the master plan for its Midwest headquarters. Sited on 50 acres, the plan calls for a total build-out of 1.6 million sf. To date, ka has designed five distinctive, granite and glass clad buildings, for a total of 779,000 sf. 

The interior of Building II features a grand staircase and houses the antique car collection of MBNA's former CEO, Al Lerner. Other amenities on campus include a high tech conference facility accommodating 500 people; a daycare center heated by geothermal energy; a cafeteria and a fitness facility.
