The renovation of Northpark Mall consisted of redevelopment of the mall entries, concourses and lighting as well as interior and exterior signage. The scope of the mall renovation also included the creation of a new food court entrance. The food court was designed to integrate more energy into the space through the use of a Route 66 theme. This reflects on Joplin, Missouri’s historical ties to the famous highway. The implementation of the theme is manifested in numerous ways from artwork to fun and functional directional signage throughout the food court. Additional graphic features were created to highlight the character and atmosphere of the Route 66 era.
